Controller

The controller responsible for this website is named in the imprint.

Your messages and settings

The tools run entirely in your browser. Your sound settings and your progress in the trainer are stored only in your browser's local storage on your own device. This data is never sent to us or to anyone else. You can delete it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

The translator keeps your message in the page address (after ?t=) so you can share it as a link. Like any page address, it is sent to our hosting provider when the page is loaded, and may appear in its short-lived technical logs. Anyone you give the link to can read the message.

Microphone and camera

The audio decoder asks for access to your microphone only when you press Listen. The sound is analysed in your browser and is never recorded, stored or uploaded. Audio files you open are read the same way, on your device.

On phones that support it, the flash view can switch on your flashlight. Browsers control the flashlight through the camera, so you will be asked for camera access. No picture is taken, viewed or stored; the camera is closed when you leave the flash view.

Hosting

This site is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 101 2nd Street, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA. When you visit, Netlify processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the time of the request to deliver the site and keep it secure (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Data transfers to the USA are based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

This site shows ads through Google AdSense, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, measure their performance and, with your consent, personalize them based on your visits to this and other websites.

Visitors from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent through a consent message before personalized ads or related cookies are used (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the privacy settings link shown on the site.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase and restrict the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to object to processing. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
