Open in translator

Yes in Morse code is -.-- . ...: Y is dash dot dash dash, E is one dot, and S three dots.

The one-letter yes

When every second counts, a single letter does the job. In the International Code of Signals used at sea, the letter C (-.-.) means "affirmative", that is yes. Radio operators also send R (.-.), which means "received" and is used much like "roger" on voice radio.

A simple yes and no code is also a classic way to communicate when speaking is impossible, for example blinking or tapping once for yes and twice for no. If both people know Morse code, YES and NO are clearer, because they cannot be confused with a random blink.
